A CEP press note reporting on the first two days of candidate filing for the departmental and communal referendum bureaux, which opened on 13 January 2025. The process is supervised in the departments by the electoral councillors, who were at the same time finalising their assessment of electoral infrastructure and deconcentrated structures across the eleven electoral jurisdictions. On the first day 333 applications were registered nationwide, 59 for the departmental bureaux and 274 for the communal bureaux; of the departmental applicants 15 were women and 44 men, and the Council states that female candidacies are strongly encouraged. Around 450 applications were registered on 14 January. The note is one of the few CEP documents giving hard participation numbers for a recruitment round, and the gender split it reports is the kind of figure the Council's own quota provisions are meant to move. Ce processus est supervisé, dans les départements, par les Conseillers-ères qui finalisent, parallèlement, l’évaluation des infrastructures électorales et des structures déconcentrées, dans les onze (11) juridictions électorales. Pour la première journée d'opérations, trois cent trente-trois (333) dossiers sont enregistrés sur l’ensemble du territoire, soit cinquante-neuf (59) pour les BRD et deux cent soixante-quatorze (274) pour les BRC. Le nombre de femmes ayant postulé pour les BRD s'élève à quinze (15), celui des hommes à quarante-quatre (44).
