From 1 March 2008 the structural foreign-exchange position stays capped at 1 percent of accounting equity, and a bank that has not unwound an excess long position now has until the third working day to do so before the BRH buys it at the bank reference rate, against the next working day under letter-circular 01. The reserve requirements on foreign-currency liabilities adopted on 25 January 2008 stay in force.
