Child Protection: A Search for Locally Led Positive Deviance
Summary: The fourth report of the Alliance for the Protection of Children project, looking for cases where Haitian communities protect children better than their circumstances would predict.
Key Findings
- Looks for what already works locally rather than cataloguing failures, which is the less common direction in child protection assessment.
- The shortest of the project's four 2017 reports, so it is the summary entry point to the set.
Full Description
The fourth report of the Alliance for the Protection of Children project, looking for cases where Haitian communities protect children better than their circumstances would predict. Positive deviance inverts the usual question: instead of cataloguing what fails, it asks what is already working locally and why, which is the harder thing to find and the more useful thing to build on.
