Description

(Haiti): USAID's local governance project, Limyak Oganizyon pou Kolektivite yo ale Lwen Plus (LOKAL+), implements activities in eight to ten communes in an effort to increase local government capacity through targeted technical assistance for participatory planning, budgeting, tax collection, and managing municipal resources. LOKAL+ aims to improve public services in targeted communes located within the three USG development corridors by achieving the following expected results: 1) strengthened communal government capacity to provide services; 2) increased local revenues to pay for local services; 3) greater access to public funding and services for communal governments, including improved access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH); 4) improved national-level policy and legislation in support of local services; and 5) increased transparency, oversight and accountability

of local governments and their service providers. FY2015 funds specifically will contribute to improved access to WASH in targeted municipalities by funding high-priority WASH projects identified by select communal governments
