PHARES mini-grid sites (assessed boundaries)
Boundaries of the 50 rural sites assessed in 2020 for solar mini-grid concessions under ANARSE's PHARES programme, each carrying the buildings, transformers and network length the design assigns to it.
Method
Site boundary is the critical-distance envelope: the maximum distance permissible between buildings on techno-economic grounds, applied cumulatively along a line, so some gaps exceed it while the average does not. Twelve of the 50 sites are drawn as several polygons where settlements are separate clusters, which is why the file holds 70 features for 50 sites. Building counts, LV and MV lengths are computed from the building-point and low-voltage files in the raw archive, which are not published as layers. Buildings are detected by satellite remote sensing, not surveyed, with large taken as roof area above 120 square metres. The upstream states the package is a technical guide and not a detailed site design.
