Four sources, and the location precision differs by feature. Every feature carries a precision field and the popup prints it. (1) Deposits and prospects: surveyed coordinates from the USGS assessment GIS release, 19 sites across the Caribbean basin, with tonnage and grade where the assessment publishes them. (2) Producing operations in the Dominican Republic: the USGS Minerals Yearbook structure-of-industry table, placed at the province or settlement it names, with operator, equity owners and annual capacity. (3) Former Haitian mines: the BME departmental mineral inventory of 1990 to 1992. (4) Haitian permit areas: the 2015 civil society report Byen Konte, Mal Kalkile?, which names each holder, permit type, grant date and area in km2 but gives no coordinates. Haiti publishes no mining register, so these six features are drawn at the centroid of the commune the source names and are explicitly flagged as approximate, not surveyed perimeters. Decree article 302 requires the National Mining Authority to publish every valid title with its coordinates; the decree takes effect about 30 September 2026. When that list appears these features should be replaced with the published perimeters.
