Dominican mining cadastre
Every mining concession, application, claim and reserve on the Dominican register: 656 perimeters with the holder, the substance, the dates and the area.
Method
The seven shapefiles the Dominican mining ministry publishes from its Mapa General Minero portal, downloaded 25 August 2026 and reprojected once from WGS84 / UTM zone 19N to WGS84 geographic. 61 exploration concessions and 103 exploitation concessions granted; 299 exploration and 91 exploitation applications pending; 91 claims; 3 state mining reserves and 8 artisanal mining reserves. 109 distinct substance groupings, led by limestone (203), basalt (59) and polymetallic copper-gold-silver-zinc (54), with 24 amber and 3 larimar. 271 named holders. Applications are drawn fainter than granted concessions because an application is not a right. Read the source .dbf as UTF-8 or Spanish holder names arrive corrupted. This layer is kept separate from the Haitian permit features, which are commune centroids rather than surveyed perimeters, so that the two are never read as equivalent.
