How many Haitians are food insecure?
Some 5.7 million people faced acute food insecurity, Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) phase 3 or worse, in the analysis current for September 2025 to February 2026, according to the IPC working group via OCHA.

Definition and limits
The figure is the number of people classified in IPC phase 3 (crisis) or worse for the current period of the latest analysis. The IPC technical working group, led by the CNSA, the national food security coordination body, classifies each analysis area from food consumption, livelihood and nutrition evidence. Each analysis publishes a current period and a projection period of several months; the chart dates each analysis by the year it was published. The population covered grew from 7.4 million in 2017 to 11.3 million in 2025 as analyses added areas, so counts across years compare coverage as much as need. Shares of the analyzed population remain comparable.
