As of April 30, 2025, Haiti's public finances demonstrate an improved global balance, reaching 22.3 billion gourdes, up from 21.2 billion gourdes a year prior. This improvement is attributed to an 18% increase in expenditures and a 15% progression in revenues. Current revenues totaled 111.6 billion gourdes, meeting 90% of the period's target and 80% of the June 2025 objective set with the IMF. Internal revenues grew by 16%, and customs revenues by 15%. Public expenditures, while controlled, are dominated by current spending, which accounts for 94% of the total and increased by 14%, largely due to a 6% rise in salaries and benefits for priority sectors like Education and National Police. Social spending for key ministries reached 24.1 billion gourdes, representing 81% of the IMF program's target. The government continues to manage the budget deficit through rigorous expenditure control and efforts to improve absorption capacity in priority sectors.
