Moisture conditions favor agricultural activities As shown in Figure 1, vegetation conditions are generally average to above average across much of the country, reflecting favorable moisture availability. Above-average rainfall since the beginning of the Printemps season is supporting normal crop development and benefiting irrigation systems. Soil moisture conditions are adequate, indicating sufficient groundwater availability. Despite above-average temperatures in recent weeks, evapotranspiration has not significantly affected crops; however, these conditions may favor the emergence of pests. Rainfall forecasts indicate below-average rainfall over the next 30 days. According to the SubC Multimodel Ensemble forecast (Figure 2), cumulative rainfall deficits could range between 25 and 50 mm. These conditions are not expected to negatively affect the development of the Printemps season and may help reduce the risk of localized urban flooding. Field reports indicate average levels of pests and diseases, despite rising temperatures and the high cost of pesticides and fertilizers.
