HAITÍ Seasonal Monitor December 18, 2025 Below-average rainfall for the second consecutive month over Haiti Key messages ● Below-average rainfall persists over Haiti during December 2025 ● Average rainfall forecast for the next seven days Figure 1. Percent of rainfall November 11 – December 10, 2025 BELOW-AVERAGE RAINFALL CONTINUES OVER HAITI Below-average rainfall for the second consecutive month has been observed over Haiti. As shown in Figure 1, the majority of the country has received 60% or less of the average rainfall over the past 30 days. Despite this rainfall deficit, vegetation health reports remain average to above average across the country. This is attributed to residual moisture from Hurricane Melissa and the use of irrigation systems. Gonaïves is the only area showing below-average vegetation conditions, which is consistent with observations throughout 2025. Source: CHC/USGS/FEWSNET Figure 2. Rainfall anomaly in mm November 25 – December 1, 2025 Rainfall forecasts for the next seven days (Figure 2) indicate average conditions across Haiti, suggesting the continuation of generally healthy vegetation. Temperature forecasts suggest slightly above-average conditions, keeping evapotranspiration near average levels. As the country transitions to the dry season, there are no expected significant changes or extreme conditions for the next month. .
