- Extends MINUSTAH to 15 April 2017. That is a six-month renewal, where the Council had been renewing for a year at a time.
- Asks the Secretary-General to conduct a Strategic Assessment Mission of the situation in Haiti by the end of the mandate and to report on it.
- Calls on MINUSTAH to keep the capacity, including appropriate air assets, to deploy troops rapidly throughout the country.
- Reiterates that building Haitian National Police capacity remains the most critical task for MINUSTAH, and looks ahead to the 2017-2021 police strategic plan.
- Reaffirms that Haiti is at an important juncture in consolidating stability and democracy.
