Full Description
The Conjunctural Economic Activity Indicator (ICAE) for Haiti registered a 2.3% annual decline in the third quarter (April-June) of the 2021-2022 fiscal year, reaching 129.1 compared to 132.1 in the previous year. This negative trend is primarily attributed to significant contractions in the primary sector (-5.2%) and tertiary sector (-2.6%), which offset a modest 1.4% growth in the secondary sector. Cumulatively, for the first nine months of the fiscal year (October-June), the global ICAE decreased by 1.0%.

In the secondary sector, manufacturing saw a 4.2% increase, while construction fell by 7.1% and electricity/water by 3.1%. The tertiary sector's downturn was influenced by decreases in commerce (-5.6%), restaurant/hotel (-3.4%), and transport/communications (-1.3%), although financial institutions (+5.0%), other market services (+2.1%), and non-market services (+4.7%) showed positive growth.
