The general Consumer Price Index (base 100 = 2017-2018) rose from 564.9 in October 2025 to 570.4 in November, a monthly increase of 1.0% and an annual increase of 28.3%, down from 1.5% monthly and 32.2% annual the previous month. The slowdown followed a combined rise in the main consumption divisions, notably food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.9% monthly, 29.7% annually), clothing and footwear (1.2%, 25.4%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (1.5%, 46.4%), restaurants (0.5%, 31.5%) and miscellaneous goods and services (0.5%, 22.7%). Within food, rice rose 30.7% on average, meat 37.5%, fresh fish 35.2%, herring 36.6%, cooking oil 35.5% and bananas 36.0% year-on-year. Rent rose 39.8%, electricity 575.0% and charcoal 31.2%. Locally produced and imported goods rose 30.7% and 24.8% year-on-year respectively. Regionally, the Rest of the West, the Metropolitan Area and the Transversal Zone posted the largest annual increases at 29.5%, 28.9% and 28.3%.
