The Agriculture Sector Assessment provides an analysis of USAID's agricultural interventions in Haiti, focusing on identifying effective technical approaches to inform the design of future activities. The assessment employs a mixed-methods approach, including a desk review of existing literature, interviews with key agriculture experts, and field data collection through focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and direct observations. The study examines various interventions supported by USAID, other donors, the Government of Haiti, NGOs, and the private sector, evaluating their effectiveness in increasing household incomes, creating jobs, improving market access, enhancing producer resilience, improving natural resource management, boosting farm-level productivity, and enhancing food security.
