Full Description
The Providing an Education of Quality in Haiti (PEQH) project, supported by the World Bank, aimed to address key challenges in Haiti's education sector. These included insufficient provision of education services, inadequately regulated non-public providers, and low student achievement. The project focused on strengthening public management of the education sector through the establishment of an Education Management Information System (EMIS) and a Quality Assurance System (QAS). It also aimed to improve learning conditions in selected public and non-public primary schools through various interventions, such as school improvement plans, teacher training, and provision of learning materials. Furthermore, the project supported student enrollment through tuition waivers, community education grants, and results-based financing models.
