The Haiti Rural Accessibility & Resilience Project, supported by the World Bank, aimed to enhance rural connectivity, improve climate resilience, and strengthen institutional capacity for road infrastructure planning and maintenance in Haiti. The project focused on increasing all-weather road access in selected sub-regions and improving the resilience of selected segments of the road network. It also included a Contingent Emergency Response Component (CERC) to provide immediate assistance during eligible emergencies. Through rehabilitation of roads, construction of bridges, and implementation of sustainable mobility development initiatives, the project sought to improve access to essential services and markets for rural populations, while also strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communication (MTPTC).
