Key Findings
Full Description
The USAID Water and Sanitation (WATSAN) Project aimed to improve access to sustainable water supply and sanitation services in Haiti. The project focused on building governance capacity at multiple levels, supporting WASH enterprises through the Enterprise Acceleration Fund, and targeting the end of the sanitation value chain. The evaluation used a mixed-methods approach, including document review, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and a staff survey, to assess the project's design, approaches, performance, and outcomes. Key findings highlight the improved capacity of Centres Technique d’Exploitation (CTEs) to manage their businesses using data-driven approaches and the establishment of fecal sludge management sites. Recommendations are made to capitalize on the project's successes, including continued capacity building, improved data management, and the establishment of regulatory frameworks.
