Full Description
The Energy Utility Partnership Program (EUPP), implemented by the United States Energy Association (USEA) with funding from USAID, aimed to promote efficient, sustainable, and environmentally sound energy supply and use in USAID-assisted countries. The program facilitated multi-year partnerships between U.S. and overseas energy ministries, agencies, utilities, and regulatory bodies. EUPP focused on transferring market-based approaches and best practices for energy system operation and regulation to increase sustainable modern energy services and clean energy production. The program addressed challenges such as inefficient utility management, antiquated equipment, inadequate system management, and the need for increased access to reliable and affordable energy.
