    "methodology_note": "## IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM)\n\nThe Displacement Tracking Matrix is IOM's system for tracking and monitoring\ninternal displacement. For Haiti it is the principal humanitarian monitoring\nsource on internally displaced persons (IDPs). It is distinct from official\nnational statistics (IHSI) and is used as a context indicator, not an\nauthoritative demographic count.\n\n**Rounds.** DTM data are collected in periodic assessment rounds. Each round\nhas a reporting date (`reportingDate`) and a round number. Rounds are\npublished on an irregular cadence (roughly monthly during the current crisis,\nbut not on a fixed calendar), so gaps between observations vary. The registry\ncadence is recorded as \"monthly\" only because the shared frequency enum has no\n\"irregular\" value.\n\n**`numPresentIdpInd` is a stock.** It counts IDPs *present* at a location at\nthe time of the round, not a flow over a period. Stocks are never summed\nacross time; annual/quarterly aggregation takes the last reported value in the\nperiod.\n\n**National totals are summed across the breakdown.** The admin0 endpoint\nreturns rows broken down by (displacement reason x origin admin1). The\nnational total at a reporting date is the sum of `numPresentIdpInd` across all\nadmin0 rows sharing that date.       "methodology_note": "## IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM)\n\nThe Displacement Tracking Matrix is IOM's system for tracking and monitoring\ninternal displacement. For Haiti it is the principal humanitarian monitoring\nsource on internally displaced persons (IDPs). It is distinct from official\nnational statistics (IHSI) and is used as a context indicator, not an\nauthoritative demographic count.\n\n**Rounds.** DTM data are collected in periodic assessment rounds. Each round\nhas a reporting date (`reportingDate`) and a round number. Rounds are\npublished on an irregular cadence (roughly monthly during the current crisis,\nbut not on a fixed calendar), so gaps between observations vary. The registry\ncadence is recorded as \"monthly\" only because the shared frequency enum has no\n\"irregular\" value.\n\n**`numPresentIdpInd` is a stock.** It counts IDPs *present* at a location at\nthe time of the round, not a flow over a period. Stocks are never summed\nacross time; annual/quarterly aggregation takes the last reported value in the\nperiod.\n\n**National totals are summed across the breakdown.** The admin0 endpoint\nreturns rows broken down by (displacement reason x origin admin1). The\nnational total at a reporting date is the sum of `numPresentIdpInd` across all\nadmin0 rows sharing that date. The by-reason series sums `numPresentIdpInd`\nper mapped reason (Conflict, Insecurity, Natural disaster, Other), and the\nfour reasons sum to the national total.\n\n**admin1 is present location.** The admin1 endpoint reports IDPs by their\n*current* (present) department, not their origin. The per-department total at\na date is the sum of `numPresentIdpInd` over that department's rows, and the\nten departments sum to the national total. These land in the same\n`internal_displacement` indicator under its `admin1` (haiti_department)\ndimension (component TOTAL, admin1 = the department pcode); the national and\nby-reason rows carry admin1 ALL, so both the by-reason and the by-department\nmarginals reconcile to the same national total. (The `idpOriginAdmin1*` fields\non admin0 rows describe origin and are not used as the present-location lens.)\n\n**Sex disaggregation.** `numberMales` and `numberFemales` give the male/female\nsplit of present IDPs; summed across the breakdown they form the MALES/FEMALES\nmeasures of the national series.\n\n**Provenance.** Only non-sensitive, aggregated figures (national and ADM1\ntotals) are ingested. No transformation is applied beyond the documented\nsum-across-breakdown aggregation; every row is passed through as observed\n(DTM reports actuals, not forecasts).\n",
